If you are going to dig on your property, a free call to 811 is the most important action you can take to avoid hitting an underground utility line. Below is a link to the Indiana811 website. You can even request a locate online.

No the garbage company will not take any electronics or appliances. They must be taken to the Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction public access compost site. The closest one is the Boone Grove site located at 546 S. 400 West. Below is a fact sheet that will be helpful to understand what to recycle and how to do it.
